We can also give you every assistance to create a unique occasion on your special day.
We don’t have a license to conduct marriages but you can arrange for the ceremony to be held just down the road at the Parish Church of St Michael the Archangel or at the Guildhall. For something completely different why not arrange for photographs of the Bride and Groom to be taken on the beautiful spiral staircase in the adjacent Lyme Regis Museum? No charge is made for this facility if you decide to use it. The Museum merely asks you to book with them in advance and to send them a copy of your pictures.
The area behind the Guildhall and the Museum, both of which are stunning historic buildings, is ideal for group photographs, with the ancient Cobb and the bay providing the perfect backdrop.
The excellent facilities at the Woodmead Halls include a large main hall, a smaller hall, a licensed bar, a fully fitted kitchen for catering purposes, full disabled access, air conditioning and adjacent parking. The main hall has recently been re-painted and can be decorated to suit your particular taste and colour scheme. There is ample seating for your guests with 250 banqueting chairs and a more than adequate supply of tables in two sizes, so that you can choose the room layout that suits you best. There is sufficient space in the main hall to accommodate a maximum of 130 seated guests for a formal meal.

The main hall includes use of a large stage area, with adjacent changing rooms, together with an impressive array of sound and lighting equipment. There is a fast internet connection, and overhead projection facilities to allow photographs/videos etc to be shown on a large pull down screen or two large television screens either side of the stage. The main hall has a sprung wooden floor, ideal for dancing, and an electronic keyboard is available. Musical entertainment can be booked locally or via such national companies as www.bandbooker.co.uk.
A licensed bar is located in the small hall and as well as a full range of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, there is an extensive wine list from which you can select wines and sparkling wines for your special day. If you require a particular item not on the list this can be ordered for you.
A spacious kitchen is available for use by outside caterers offering a full range of equipment including four ovens, a hot cupboard, two fridges, a freezer, a microwave, a commercial dishwater and a water boiler. Use of the kitchen also includes new plain white, bone china crockery and new cutlery for 130 place settings. We can recommend several outside caterers who all use the venue on a regular basis and offer an excellent service.
Hire charges at Woodmead Halls are very reasonable. Before 6.00 pm the hire fee for the main hall is £10 per hour and the small hall for £7.00 per hour. After 6.00 pm these hourly fees increase to £11.50 for the main hall and £8.00 for the small hall. The fee for the use of the kitchen is just £30. If a licensed bar is required there is no charge made for the small hall.
